Community Health Centers of Greater Dayton (CHCGD) are now offering two types of COVID-19 testing.

1. Rapid Antigen test (frequently referred to as a rapid test. This test detects protein fragments specific to the Coronavirus. Turnaround time for results is usually very quick and in some cases, results can be reported within 15 minutes. Rapid tests are offer at East Dayton Health Center

CHCGD and its community partners are working together to offer rapid testing for the general public at East Dayton Health Center (2132 E 3rd. St, 45403) on Mondays 8:00 am – noon, Wednesdays 1:00 pm – 5:00pm, and Fridays 8:00 am – noon. Rapid testing will be provided at no charge.

No doctor’s order is needed for the rapid test.

To schedule a test call (937) 461-6869.

2. PCR test. PCR testing is considered the “gold standard” in SARS-CoV-2 detection. This test actually detects RNA (or genetic material) that is specific to the virus and can detect the virus within days of infection, even those who have no symptoms. Turnaround time is longer, generally in the 2-3 day range. When demand is high, results can take longer

CHCGD and its community partners are working together to offer drive up Covid-19 PCR testing for our patients. PCR Testing will be available at a CHCGD facility on Tuesdays from 12 noon-4:00 pm and at a Five Rivers facility on Fridays from 9:00 am-noon, through the end of March 2021.

CHCGD patients may be scheduled for PCR testing at a CHCGD site or at a Five Rivers site. Compunet Clinical Lab will bill the patients’ insurance for the costs of the tests and CHCGD will pay for the testing for any uninsured/underinsured CHCGD patients.

An order from a CHCGD provider is required for the PCR test.

To schedule a test call (937) 461-6869

What to Know When Visiting Our Centers
CHCGD is working hard to protect the health of all of our patients and staff. If you have a fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, or generalized achiness please let us know while scheduling an appointment.

We will be taking the temperature of anyone entering our Centers. We ask that you bring no more than one other person with the patient to the visit.

If you already have an appointment scheduled for another reason but now have a fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, or generalized achiness please call your Center before you arrive for your appointment. A member of our team will contact you to discuss your symptoms.
