Mitzi was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio. She studied Speech Pathology at Ohio University, which fostered an appreciation and eventually a pursuit into the counseling profession. Currently a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervisory Designation, as well as a Clinically Certified Trauma Professional, she completed her Masters in Community Counseling from Kent State University, and has provided services to children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples; in various settings such as communities, homes, schools, agencies, hospitals, crisis units, corrections facilities, and shelter environments. She has completed research, published, co-taught, as well as presented/trained, in areas such as supervision, ethics, parenting children and adolescents with behavioral health issues, anxiety disorders, multicultural competencies, serving at-risk populations, and trauma; as well as developed a training curriculum in 2018 for emerging therapists completing dually diagnosed assessments centered on documentation and care coordination. Mitzi is passionate and devoted to consistently investing in the work needed to ensure the overall well-being of individuals who entrust us with their care. When not working, Mitzi enjoys time with family, traveling, performing arts/theater, and a quiet weekend in a cabin or on a beach (or island).
